Another interesting game for Santiago de Cuba (1-1) which played in Rio against Pinar (0-2). Santiago de Cuba had an easy win 64-46. The game was mostly controlled by Santiago de Cuba. Pinar was better in fourth quarter 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Pinar to just 7 points in second quarter. Dislaine Vicente scored 22 points to lead the charge for the winners and forward Arianne Mena (182-85) chipped in 14 points during the contest. The former international center Anay Garcia Pozo (188-94) responded with 10 points and 8 rebounds and international Anisleidys Galindo (181-89) scored 11 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Santiago de Cuba will play against Camaguey (#5) on the road in the next round. Pinar will play against Capitalinas to get more than just one victory in their record.
