Regular Season Round 23: Al Sadd - Al Arabi 51-80

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Doha: Al Arabi (#3) and Al Sadd (#8). Al Sadd was crushed at home by 29 points 51-80 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game without a history. Al Arabi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Al Arabi forced 19 Al Sadd turnovers. Strangely Al Sadd outrebounded Al Arabi 49-36 including a 23-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Al Sadd's players. The best player for the winners was the former international center Mame Souleye (206-87) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Nigerian-American power forward Manny Adako (203-87, college: Northeastern, agency: Court Side) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Al Arabi players scored in double figures. American power forward Raymond Sykes (206-86, college: Clemson, agency: Three Eye Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 20 rebounds and the other American import forward AJ West (206-91, college: Nevada) added 13 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Al Arabi have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 7-3 record having just one point less than leader El Jaysh. Al Sadd lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
