Regular Season Round 15: Korikouvot - Namika Lr 95-68

Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Namika Lr (2-13) was outscored by third ranked Korikouvot (11-5) in Kouvola 95-68 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Korikouvot. Namika Lr was better in fourth quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Namika Lr to just 7 points in second quarter. They outrebounded Namika Lr 50-34 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Korikouvot looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Namika Lr's players. It was a good game for Danish center Nicolai Andersen (203-96) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eleven shots !!!). Guard Henri Kantonen (197-97) contributed with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American swingman Reginald Bratton (193-86, college: Lenoir-Rhyne, agency: Blacktop Management) answered with 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and swingman Anttoni Tapio (193-92) added 11 points in the effort for Namika Lr. Despite that victory Korikouvot went down to fifth position (Division) due to points difference. Loser Namika Lr keeps the thirteenth place with 13 games lost. Korikouvot will face higher ranked PuHu Juniorit (#4) in Vantaa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Namika Lr will play at home against PeU-Basket (#10) and hope to win that game.
