Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Qingdao Eagles (13-15) lost to sixth ranked Leopards (19-10) in Shenzhen 97-112 on Wednesday. Leopards outrebounded Qingdao Eagles 52-39 including 37 on the defensive glass. Polish-Swedish power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85) nailed a double-double by scoring 26 points and 17 rebounds for the winning side and American point guard Jeremy Pargo (188-86, college: Gonzaga) accounted for 13 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists. Greek center Loukas Mavrokefalidis (207-84) came up with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) added 23 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Qingdao Eagles in the defeat. Five Leopards and four Qingdao Eagles players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Leopards maintains sixth place with 19-10 record. Loser Qingdao Eagles keep the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Leopards will meet at home Bayi Rockets (#19) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Qingdao Eagles will play against Jilin Tigers (#14) and hope to secure a win.
