Very significant was Camaguey's (#4) 60-48 road victory against Pinar. Pinar was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 38-23 second half run of Camaguey. It was an exceptional evening for international forward Leidis Oquendo (180-82, agency: Pro Sports) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Lissandra Vargas (180-96) accounted for 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four Camaguey players scored in double figures. The former international center Anay Garcia Pozo (188-94) came up with 9 points and 13 rebounds and guard Yusleidys Miranda (173-96) added 15 points respectively for Pinar in the defeat. Pinar's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Camaguey will play against Santiago de Cuba (#4) at home in the next round. Pinar will play against Capitalinas and hopes to get finally their first victory.
