Regular Season Round 20: Grodno-93 - Brest 104-63

Premier League top team - Grodno-93 (16-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Brest (2-15) 104-63. The game without a history. Grodno-93 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Brest's 28. Grodno-93 forced 19 Brest turnovers and outrebounded them 62-22 including a 42-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 35 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Brest's players. Worth to mention a quality performance of power forward Victor Ilyukevich (203-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 17 rebounds and forward Kiryl Chumakov (197-95) who added 19 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Guard Anton Shchurko (188-97) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Pavel Moroz (193-88) scored 7 points and 5 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Grodno-93 maintains first position with 16-1 record. Brest lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with GOCOR-Sozh. Grodno-93 will again play against Brest (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Brest will have a break next round.
