Regular Season Round 29: Shanghai S. - Fujian S. 119-93

CBA top team - Shanghai Sharks (25-4) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed sixteenth ranked Fujian (8-21) 119-93. Shanghai Sharks dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Fujian's 26 and made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Shanghai Sharks forced 19 Fujian turnovers and outrebounded them 54-36 including a 39-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. Shanghai Sharks looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Fujian helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. French Guerschon Yabusele (201-95) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds. American point guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) contributed with 26 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Dwight Buycks (191-89, college: Marquette) answered with 24 points and 7 rebounds and forward Yichao Yi-Chao (195) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Fujian. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shanghai Sharks have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 25-4 record. Fujian at the other side keeps the sixteenth position with 21 games lost. Shanghai Sharks are looking forward to face Sichuan BW (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fujian will play against Shanxi Zhongyu (#13) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
