Regular Season Round 15: Lahti - Jyvaskyla BA 87-63

1st Division top team - Lahti (14-4) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Jyvaskyla BA (9-7) 87-63. The game without a history. Lahti led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a good game for American guard Rashad Smith (201-93, college: Tulsa, agency: Diamond Sports) who led his team to a victory with 18 points. Guard Sami Ikavalko (187-89) contributed with 13 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Lahti players scored in double figures. Valtteri Leppanen answered with 15 points and 6 rebounds and forward Miikka Marttinen (195-92) added 7 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Jyvaskyla BA. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lahti maintains first place in Division with 14-4 record. Newly promoted Jyvaskyla BA dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. Lahti will face Pyrinto II (#10) in Tampere in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Jyvaskyla BA will play on the road against the league's second-placed Espoo United (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
