Regular Season Round 20: GOCOR-Sozh - Impuls BGUIR 67-69

Ninth-ranked GOCOR-Sozh (2-15) used its home court advantage to challenge fifth ranked Impuls BGUIR (11-8) in Gomel. The visitors from Minsk managed to secure only two-point victory 69-67. However their fans expected much easier game. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Maksim Shustov (188-86) who scored 31 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Alexandr Butkevich (195-94) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Aleksandr Kopacev (203-95) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Tsimafei Viaroukin (186-93) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Four GOCOR-Sozh players scored in double figures. Impuls BGUIR have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Vitebsk. GOCOR-Sozh lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Impuls BGUIR will have a break next round. GOCOR-Sozh will play again at home against Impuls BGUIR (#5) and hope to win that game.
