Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Townsville Fire and 5th ranked Bendigo Spirit had identical 10-8 record. This time Townsville Fire used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Bendigo 87-67. The game was mostly controlled by Townsville Fire. Bendigo Spirit was better in second period 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was the former international center Suzy Batkovic-Brown (195-80) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds. Townsville Fire's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Sydney Uni Flames at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bendigo Spirit will play against Boomers (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
