Another exciting game was between fourth ranked Santiago de Cuba and 5th ranked Camaguey where Santiago de Cuba (2-2) beat Camaguey (1-3) on the road 68-62. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 16-9. But Camaguey won second period 16-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Santiago de Cuba well out of reach of Camaguey shooting 100.0 percent from the field. Worth to mention a great performance of Dislaine Vicente who helped to win the game recording 16 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Forward Suanly Tanis (178-94) contributed with 15 points (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. International forward Leidis Oquendo (180-82, agency: Pro Sports) replied with 22 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Lissandra Vargas (180-96) added 13 points in the effort for Camaguey. Santiago de Cuba maintains fourth position with 2-2 record. Camaguey at the other side keeps the fifth place with three games lost. Santiago de Cuba will play against higher ranked Sancti Spiritus (#3) in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Camaguey will play against the league's second-placed Capitalinas in La Habana to get more than just one victory in their record.
