Regular Season Round 4: Pinar del Rio - Capitalinas 36-82

Leader Capitalinas delivered the third victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed bottom-ranked Pinar (0-4) 82-36 in Rio. The game without a history. Capitalinas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Pinar to just 2 points in third quarter and to 8 points in second half. Capitalinas dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Pinar's 26. Capitalinas forced 19 Pinar turnovers. Strangely Pinar outrebounded Capitalinas 26-12. Worth to mention a quality performance of Yanaisy Arrozarena who helped to win the game recording 15 points and Yixis Hechevarria who added 10 points during the contest. At the losing side guard Yusleidys Miranda (173-96) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and international Anisleidys Galindo (181-89) scored 14 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Capitalinas maintains first position with 3-1 record, which they share with Sancti Spiritus and Guantanamo. Defending champion Pinar still closes the standings with four games lost. Capitalinas will meet at home Camaguey (#5) in the next round. Pinar will play against the league's leader Guantanamo and hopes to get finally their first victory.
