Fifth-ranked Kyoto Hannar. (13-18) made lots of trouble for second ranked Sanen Neophoenix (18-13). The visitors from Hamamatsu managed to secure only two-point victory 83-81. However their fans expected easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kyoto Hannar. won third quarter 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sanen Neophoenix made 24-of-30 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. Swingman Josh Childress (203-83, college: Stanford) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Robert Dozier (206-85, college: Memphis) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Sanen Neophoenix players scored in double figures. Sanen Neophoenix's coach Hiroki Fujita allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Marcus Dove (206-85, college: Oklahoma St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) added 14 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Kyoto Hannar.Sanen Neophoenix have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 18-13 record having eight points less than leader SeaHorses. Kyoto Hannar. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 18 games lost. Sanen Neophoenix will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
