Regular Season Round 11: Liffey Celtics - DCU Mercy 75-69

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kildare. Second ranked Liffey Celtics faced 3rd placed DCU Mercy. Host Liffey Celtics (6-3) defeated guests from Dublin (5-4) 75-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of DCU Mercy. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Liffey Celtics forced 29 DCU Mercy turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Liffey Celtics especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 66.7 percentage. American guard Jazmen Boone (173, college: William & Mary) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points and 7 rebounds. International power forward Aine O'Connor (182-91) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American guard Jasmine Wooton (173-93, college: Portland) answered with 19 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Sarah Fairbanks (185, college: St.Joseph's) added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for DCU Mercy. Liffey Celtics maintains second place with 6-3 record having four points less than leader Glanmire, which they share with WIT Wildcats. DCU Mercy at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Killester. Liffey Celtics will play against NUIG Mystics (#7) in Galway in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. DCU Mercy will play at home against Brunell and hopes to get back on the winning track.
