There was no surprise when 10th ranked Vicenza (6-11) was defeated on the road by third ranked Piacenza (14-3) 82-69 on Saturday. Piacenza held Vicenza to an opponent 19.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Piacenza looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Point guard Giacomo Sanguinetti (180-90, agency: SPORTlab Agency) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners and the former international power forward Massimo Rezzano (205-82, agency: SPORTlab Agency) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Piacenza players scored in double figures. Guard Nicola Boaro (187-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and guard Eros Chinellato (191-91, agency: SPORTlab Agency) scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Vicenza's coach Sandro Orlando let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Piacenza. They moved-up to second place in B, which they share with Bergamo. Loser Vicenza keeps the tenth position with 11 games lost. Piacenza will face league's second-placed Bergamo on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vicenza will play against Lecco (#6) and hope to win that game.
