Regular Season Round 31: Aomori Watts - Shinshu BW 96-71

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Aomori Watts (13-16) outleveled at home 4th placed Shinshu BW (10-20) 96-71 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Aomori Watts. Shinshu BW was better in fourth quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shinshu BW was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American center Kyle Barone (208-89, college: Idaho) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) helped adding 20 points and 16 rebounds. Five Aomori Watts players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Joshua Dollard (203-86, college: Auburn) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and Canadian center Chad Posthumus (211-91, college: Morehead St.) scored 20 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aomori Watts moved-up to fourth place. Loser Shinshu BW dropped to the fifth position with 20 games lost. Aomori Watts will face again Shinshu BW (#5) in Nagano in the next round.
