Regular Season Round 15: C.Adelantados - Rivas Promete 68-57

Rather expected game when 7th ranked Rivas Promete (8-7) lost to fifth ranked C.Adelantados (10-4) in San Cristobal 57-68 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by C.Adelantados. Rivas Promete was better in second period 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American guard Tyonna Outland (173-92, college: CSU Bakersfield) who led her team to a victory with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Veronica Matoso (185-88) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four C.Adelantados players scored in double figures. Forward Paula Ginzo (187-98) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and Lucia Togores (176-96) added 17 points in the effort for Rivas Promete. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for C.Adelantados. They moved-up to third place in Group B. Loser Rivas Promete dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. C.Adelantados will face Picken Claret (#9) in Valencia in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rivas Promete will play at home against Valencia and hope to win that game.
