Regular Season Round 10: Mayrouba - Sagesse 76-81

The most shocking disappointment of round 10 in the Pepsi LBL was a home defeat of 7th ranked Mayrouba (3-7) to eighth ranked Sagesse (4-6) 81-76 in the game for the seventh place. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Mayrouba won third quarter 24-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Mayrouba outrebounded Sagesse 53-39 including 38 on the defensive glass. Nigerian-American guard Michael Efevberha (193-84, college: CS Northridge) had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 17 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Terrell Stoglin (185-91, college: Maryland) chipped in 30 points and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side American forward Emmanuel Jones (200-85, college: UTRGV) responded with 26 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import center Robert Upshaw (213-94, college: Washington) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds. Four Mayrouba players scored in double figures. Sagesse moved-up to seventh place. Mayrouba at the other side dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Champville. Sagesse are looking forward to face league's second-placed Byblos at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Mayrouba will play against Al Riyadi (#3) and is hoping to win this game.
