Regular Season Round 17: Siena Virtus - Montecatini 61-77

There was no surprise when 15th ranked Siena Virtus (6-11) were defeated at home by seventh ranked Montecatiniterme (9-7) 77-61 on Saturday. It was a great shooting night for Montecatiniterme especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Point guard Guido Meini (188-79) stepped up and scored 23 points and 4 assists for the winners and power forward Alessandro Tabbi (205-94) chipped in 16 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Guard Ferdinando Nasello (194-95) responded with 18 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks and point guard Simone Lenardon (189-85) scored 7 points and 7 assists. Siena Virtus' coach Francesco Braccagni tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Montecatiniterme moved-up to fourth place in B. Siena Virtus at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the tenth position with 11 games lost. Montecatiniterme will face Domodossola (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Siena Virtus will play against Firenze Enic and hope to win that game.
