Very expected game when 11th ranked Apollon Patras (4-10) was rolled over on the road by third ranked AEK Athens (11-3) 88-69. The game without a history. AEK Athens led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Apollon Patras' players. Croatian point guard Roko-Leni Ukic (196-84, agency: XL Basketball Agency) notched 18 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and Nigerian power forward Chinemelu Elonu (206-87, college: Texas A&M) supported him with 9 points and 10 rebounds. Four AEK Athens players scored in double figures. Even 15 points by guard Dimitris Verginis (194-87, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Apollon Patras. American forward Michael Cobbins (203-92, college: Oklahoma St.) added 9 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. AEK Athens maintains third position with 11-3 record having just three points less than leader Olympiacos. Apollon Patras at the other side keeps the eleventh place with ten games lost.
