Regular Season Round 10: Tokyo Big Blue - Aisin AW 72-84

Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Aisin AW (9-9) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Tokyo Big Blue (1-17) 84-72 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Aisin AW. Tokyo Big Blue was better in third quarter 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Tokyo Big Blue to just 7 points in first quarter. Aisin AW dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Big Blue's 34. They outrebounded Tokyo Big Blue 45-28 including 17 on the offensive glass. Aisin AW looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Center Eve Nyokozera (199-93) had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 17 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and guard Kyouhei Kumazawa (180-88) chipped in 11 points and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side point guard Yoshikawa Osamuakira (182-92) responded with 19 points and 4 assists and point guard Gao Shanlong (171-93) scored 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Aisin AW moved-up to fifth place. Tokyo Big Blue lost twelfth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 17 lost games. Aisin AW will face Tokyo Cinq R. (#6) on the road in the next round. Tokyo Big Blue's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tokyo Tokyo HT.
