Regular Season Round 32: Niigata Albirex - Nagoya DD 83-69

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Niigata. Third ranked Niigata Albirex faced second-ranked Diamond Dolphins. Host Niigata Albirex (17-14) defeated guests from Nagoya (19-12) 83-69. It looked good early as Diamond Dolphins took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Niigata Albirex had a 24-13 second period charge getting the lead and Diamond Dolphins were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-83. The winners were led by American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) supported him with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Four Niigata Albirex players scored in double figures. Even 22 points and 5 rebounds by guard Takaya Sasayama (178-93) did not help to save the game for Diamond Dolphins. American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) added 18 points for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Niigata Albirex maintains third position with 17-14 record having nine points less than leader SeaHorses, which they share with Osaka Evessa. Diamond Dolphins at the other side keep the second place with 12 games lost. Niigata Albirex's next round opponent will be again league's second-placed Diamond Dolphins in Nagoya and it will be for sure the game of the week.
