Regular Season Round 21: GOCOR-Sozh - Impuls BGUIR 91-72

Bottom-ranked GOCOR-Sozh managed to get a third victory, breaking the series of four consecutive losses on Saturday night. This time they outleveled fifth-ranked Impuls BGUIR in Gomel 91-72. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 19-point difference suggests that GOCOR-Sozh is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Impuls BGUIR. The game without a history. GOCOR-Sozh led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Impuls BGUIR's 44. GOCOR-Sozh forced 22 Impuls BGUIR turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Artem Stankevich (185-95) who scored 24 points. Point guard Tsimafei Viaroukin (186-93) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Five GOCOR-Sozh players scored in double figures. GOCOR-Sozh's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Evgeniy Pankratovic (186-98) who recorded 23 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and the former international guard Maksim Shustov (188-86) added 19 points and 5 assists respectively. GOCOR-Sozh (3-15) moved-up to eighth place. Loser Impuls BGUIR keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
