Regular Season Round 15: Boulazac - Maurienne 80-69

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Boulazac Basket and 11th ranked Aix-Maurienne had identical 6-8 record. This time Boulazac Basket used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Aix-les-Bains 80-69. The game was mostly controlled by Boulazac Basket. Aix-Maurienne was better in fourth quarter 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Boulazac Basket made 24-of-26 charity shots (92.3 percent) during the game. Boulazac Basket had a 26-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for the former international point guard Marc-Antoine Pellin (171-87) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 7 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Boulazac Basket. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Blois. Aix-Maurienne at the other side keeps the eleventh position with nine games lost. Boulazac Basket's next round opponent will be higher ranked Nantes (#4) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aix-Maurienne will play against Denain Voltaire (#6) and hope to win that game.
