Regular Season Round 19: SAP Vaucluse - Angers BC 89-69

There was an upset when higher ranked Angers BC (8-11) was smashed by sixteenth ranked SAP Vaucluse (8-12) in Sorgues 89-69 on Saturday. The game without a history. SAP Vaucluse led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. SAP Vaucluse outrebounded Angers BC 39-23 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for Lithuanian forward Darius Tarvydas (200-91) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds. Bahamas forward Bennet Davis (206-84, college: Northeastern, agency: Inception Sports) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Davis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four SAP Vaucluse players scored in double figures. American forward Auston Calhoun (201-90, college: Bowling Green, agency: HMS) answered with 17 points and 5 rebounds and American-Nigerian forward Stephen Nwaukoni (203-91, college: Hofstra, agency: HMS) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Angers BC. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SAP Vaucluse have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourteenth place. Angers BC lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with 11 games lost. SAP Vaucluse will face higher ranked ALS Basket (#11) in Andrezieux in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
