Regular Season Round 14: Trikalla - Aris 78-62

Date: January 21, 2017
We should mention about the upset which took place in Trikallon, where higher ranked Aris (8-6) lost to thirteenth ranked Aiolos Trikallon (5-9) in a road game 62-78. The game was mostly controlled by Aiolos Trikallon. Aris was better in fourth quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Kelsey Barlow (196-91, college: Ill.-Chicago) notched 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Ukrainian guard Oleksandr Lypovyy (200-91) supported him with 10 points and 5 rebounds. Even 16 points and 7 rebounds by Serbian power forward Tadija Dragicevic (206-86) did not help to save the game for Aris. The former international center Vasileios Kavvadas (204-91) added 10 points for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Aiolos Trikallon have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Kymis and Lavrio. Aris at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Aiolos Trikallon's next round opponent will be Apollon Patras (#11) on the road. Aris will play against AGOR (#7) and hope to win that game.
