Regular Season Round 16: Wisla Can-Pack - TS Ostrovia 91-65

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Wisla Can-Pack (13-3) crushed bottom-ranked TS Ostrovia (2-14) in Krakow 91-65 on Saturday. Wisla Can-Pack looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by TS Ostrovia's players. TS Ostrovia was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for Jamaican power forward Vanessa Gidden (192-85, college: Hofstra, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Agnieszka Szott-Hejmej (186-82) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Wisla Can-Pack players scored in double figures. American point guard Jordan Jones (168-93, college: Texas A&M) replied with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and her fellow American import forward Azia Capri Bishop (190-93, college: Kentucky) added 6 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for TS Ostrovia. TS Ostrovia's coach Wojciech Szawarski gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Sleza Wroclaw. TS Ostrovia lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. Wisla Can-Pack will face CCC Polkowice (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. TS Ostrovia will play against AZS UMCS (#6) and hope to win that game.
