Regular Season Round 14: Noorteliiga - Tarvas 75-107

There was no surprise in Tallinn where bottom-ranked Noorteliiga (0-11) was crushed by seventh ranked BC Rakvere (4-9) 107-75 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by BC Rakvere. Noorteliiga was better in third quarter 26-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BC Rakvere forced 19 Noorteliiga turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Justin Baker (203-89, college: Utah Valley) who scored 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Swingman Oliver Metsalu (196-93) chipped in 28 points. Baker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Point guard Ron-Arnar Pehka (185-98) produced 16 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Madis Soodla (205-97) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five BC Rakvere and four Noorteliiga players scored in double figures. Noorteliiga's coach Indrek Visnapuu gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Despite that victory BC Rakvere went down to eighth position due to points difference. Loser Noorteliiga still closes the standings with 11 games lost. BC Rakvere will have a break next round. Noorteliiga will play again on the road against BC Rakvere (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
