WNBL top team - Dandenong Rangers (13-5) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Adelaide Lightning (2-17) 85-58. The game was mostly controlled by Dandenong Rangers. Adelaide Lightning was better in fourth quarter 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dandenong Rangers made 29-of-37 charity shots (78.4 percent) during the game, while Adelaide Lightning only scored eleven points from the stripe. Dandenong Rangers forced 21 Adelaide Lightning turnovers. It was a great evening for international forward Sara Blicavs (188-93) who led her team to a victory scoring 20 points and 4 assists. The former international guard Stephanie Cumming (178-90) helped adding 22 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Dandenong Rangers players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Sarah Elsworthy with 11 points and American forward Colleen Planeta (188-88, college: Point Loma) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dandenong Rangers maintains first place with 13-5 record. Adelaide Lightning at the other side stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Dandenong Rangers will play against Perth Lynx (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Adelaide Lightning will play against Perth Lynx (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
