Second Stage Round 1: Fujitsu RW - Chanson V-M 59-54 OT

The most important game of round 1 took place in Kawasaki of Places 1-6 where Fujitsu RW beat Chanson V-M (0-1) 59-54 in overtime on Saturday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Chanson V-M won third quarter 19-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Chanson V-M used huge pressure winning it 14-10 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 3-8. Fujitsu RW dominated on the defensive end, holding Chanson V-M to just 6 points in second quarter. The former international forward Moeko Nagaoka (180-93) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and international point guard Mio Shinozaki (167-91) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side international forward Sanae Motokawa (175-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Minaho Minamiminoru (167-93) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. Chanson V-M will play next round against Toyota A. trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Fujitsu RW will try to continue on its current victory against Denso Iris in Kariya.
