Regular Season Round 20: Zubry - Start Lublin II 87-62

Everything went according to plan when tenth ranked Zubry (8-12) outplayed 12th ranked Start Lublin II (3-17) in Bialystok 87-62 on Sunday. Zubry forced 20 Start Lublin II turnovers and outrebounded them 48-26 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Zubry looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Start Lublin II's players. Guard Michal Bombrych (182-98) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Guard Piotr Borowik (183-95) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Bartlomiej Pelczar (185-0) replied with 24 points and Miroslaw Unilowski (192-98) added 15 points and 4 steals in the effort for Start Lublin II. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zubry moved-up to eighth place in Group B, which they share with Ostrow Mazow. and Shmoolky W-wa. Start Lublin II lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. Zubry will face higher ranked AZS UMCS Lbn (#3) in Lublin in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Start Lublin II will play at home against Shmoolky W-wa (#9) and hope to win that game.
