Regular Season Round 15: Hapoel Eilat - Bnei Hertzeliyya 91-84

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Bnei Hasharon (9-6) against ninth ranked Hapoel Eilat (7-8) on Sunday night. Visiting Bnei Hasharon was defeated by Hapoel Eilat in a tough game in Eilat 84-91. Bnei Hasharon trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 32-24 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 84-91 at the end of the game. Hapoel Eilat made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hapoel Eilat made 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Landon Milbourne (201-87, college: Maryland) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Reginald Buckner (206-91, college: Mississippi) accounted for 17 points and 5 blocks (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winning side. Five Hapoel Eilat players scored in double figures. Hapoel Eilat's coach Oded Katash used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International forward Karam Mashour (198-91, college: Morehead St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and American-Georgian point guard Taurean Green (183-85, college: Florida) added 25 points respectively for Bnei Hasharon in the defeat. Hapoel Eilat moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Ironi Nahariya and Maccabi Haifa. Loser Bnei Hasharon keeps the third position with six games lost. They share it with Hapoel J-M. Hapoel Eilat will meet bottom-ranked Maccabi K/G (#12) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bnei Hasharon will play against Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
