Regular Season Round 33: Tochigi Brex - Toshiba BT 70-79

An interesting game for Toshiba Thunders (27-5) which played road game in Tochigi against second-best Tochigi Brex (23-7). First ranked Toshiba Thunders managed to get a 9-point victory 79-70. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Tochigi Brex. Tochigi Brex was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Toshiba Thunders had a 27-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. American players dominated also this game. Forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) nailed a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds for the winning side and forward Ryan Spangler (203-91, college: Oklahoma) accounted for 9 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Tochigi Brex in the defeat. Tochigi Brex's coach Thomas Wisman let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Toshiba Thunders maintains first place with 27-5 record which they share with defeated Tochigi Brex. Loser Tochigi Brex still keeps top position with seven games lost. They share it with SeaHorses. Toshiba Thunders will meet league's second-placed Diamond Dolphins in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tochigi Brex will play against Hitachi Sunrockers in Tokyo and hope to secure a win.
