Regular Season Round 32: Kagoshima - Gunma 52-79

Leader Gunma delivered the twenty first victory. This time they crushed 6th ranked Kagoshima (3-27) 79-52 in Renova. The game was mostly controlled by Gunma. Kagoshima was better in second period 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gunma dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Kagoshima's 30. They outrebounded Kagoshima 49-28 including a 36-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by American center Marcus Cousin (211-86, college: Houston) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds and Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) supported him with 16 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Even 18 points and 8 rebounds by American-Panamanian forward Tymell Murphy (196-90, college: FIU) did not help to save the game for Kagoshima. Guard Hiroshi Fujita (190-92) added 7 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gunma maintains first position with 21-9 record, which they share with Nishinomiya S. Kagoshima lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 27 games lost. Gunma's next round opponent will be Kagawa FA (#5) in Takamatsu. Kagoshima will play on the road against Tokyo Z and hope to win that game.
