Regular Season Round 17: Valdiceppo - Montegrano 69-90

Date: January 22, 2017
No shocking result in a game in Perugia where first ranked Montegrano (14-1) outleveled 14th ranked Valdiceppo (3-13) 90-69 on Sunday. Valdiceppo was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Naturalized Argentinian center Marcelo Dip (205-84, agency: Players Group) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and forward Giorgio Broglia (198-86, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Federico Burini (190-93) responded with 16 points and 4 assists and naturalized Czech guard Filippo Meccoli Matejca (194-92) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Montegrano maintains first place in B with 14-1 record. Newly promoted Valdiceppo keeps the fourteenth position with 13 games lost. Montegrano will face Isernia (#13) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Valdiceppo will play against Venafro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
