SM-sarja top team - HyPo (15-2) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat seventh ranked Peli-Karhut (7-10) in Hyvinkaa 81-67. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Peli-Karhut. The game was mostly controlled by HyPo. Peli-Karhut was better in third quarter 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. HyPo players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-77, college: Xavier) who scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Bria Goss (178-92, college: Kentucky) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Akilah Sims (178-94, college: IUPUI) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 17 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Daisha Simmons (178-91, college: Seton Hall, agency: Gamble Sports Management) added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Four HyPo and five Peli-Karhut players scored in double figures. HyPo have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-2 record. Peli-Karhut at the other side keeps the seventh place with ten games lost. HyPo will have a break next round. Peli-Karhut will play at home against ViVe (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
