The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Capitalinas as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Capitalinas defeated 5th ranked Camaguey in La Habana 71-56. The game without a history. Capitalinas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They were well out of reach of Camaguey shooting 96.7 percent from the field. Point guard Dairis Tornell (176-92) stepped up and scored 23 points (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) for the winners and the former international center Edith Thompson (188-90) chipped in 15 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Capitalinas' coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. International forward Leidis Oquendo (180-82, agency: Pro Sports) responded with 17 points and guard Arianna Marques (172-89) scored 12 points. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Camaguey at the other side keeps the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Pinar del Rio.
