Regular Season Round 32: Toyotsu FE - Iwate Big Bulls 66-64

Sixth-ranked Iwate Big Bulls (7-23) made lots of trouble for first ranked Toyotsu FE (24-6) in Nagoya on Sunday. Toyotsu FE managed to secure only two-point victory 66-64. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-16. But Iwate Big Bulls won second period 16-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Nigerian center Solomon Alabi (216-88, college: Florida St.) who scored 6 points and 16 rebounds. Forward Yuto Otsuka (188-90) chipped in 9 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Toyotsu FE's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American power forward Nicchaeus Doaks (201-87, college: Chattanooga) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds and swingman Makoto Sawaguchi (184-91) added 7 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Toyotsu FE have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 24-6 record, which they share with Hiroshima D. and Kumamoto V. Iwate Big Bulls lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 23 games lost. Toyotsu FE is looking forward to face league's leader Dragonflies in Hiroshima in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Iwate Big Bulls will play at home against Shinshu BW (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
