Top ranked Oviedo CB (15-6) recorded its sixth loss on the court of fourteenth ranked Caceres Basket on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by Caceres Basket 102-100. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Oviedo CB. Caceres Basket shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was Montenegrin guard Nikola Rakocevic (191-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who scored 32 points. Croatian center Aleksandar Marcius (208-90, college: De Paul) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Swedish Johan Lofberg (199-95) who recorded 24 points and 8 rebounds and center Eduardo Hernandez-Sonseca (212-83) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Oviedo CB's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Caceres Basket (9-12) moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Castello. Oviedo CB at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. They share it with Palencia and Gipuzkoa GBC. Caceres Basket is looking forward to face higher ranked CB Prat (#12) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Oviedo CB will play against the league's second-placed Palencia Baloncesto (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
