There was an upset when higher ranked Jesi (8-10) lost on the road to fourteenth ranked Imola (7-11) 93-89 on Sunday. Imola dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Jesi's 34 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Jesi 37-24 including 30 on the defensive glass. Jesi was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for forward Alex Ranuzzi (195-86, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international center Michele Maggioli (212-77) contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Timothy Bowers (188-82, college: Mississippi St.) replied with 24 points and 6 assists and his fellow American import forward Dwayne Davis (196-89, college: S.Mississippi) added 19 points in the effort for Jesi. Five Imola and four Jesi players scored in double figures. Imola moved-up to twelfth place in A2. Loser Jesi dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost. Imola will face higher ranked Roseto (#8) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
