Regular Season Round 18: Manresa - Sevilla 91-86

Bottom-ranked La ICL Manresa managed to get a third victory, breaking the three-game losing streak. This time they won against tenth-ranked Sevilla 91-86. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-13. But Sevilla won third quarter 30-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. La ICL Manresa made 22-of-24 charity shots (91.7 percent) during the game. Strangely Sevilla outrebounded La ICL Manresa 38-24 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. Sevilla was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Pere Tomas (202-89) notched 20 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the effort and Czech Patrik Auda (206-89, college: Seton Hall, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 16 points. La ICL Manresa's coach Ibon Navarro allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 21 points by Serbian guard Nikola Radicevic (197-94) did not help to save the game for Sevilla. Austrian-Slovenian center Rasid Mahalbasic (210-90, agency: BeoBasket) added 14 points and 10 rebounds. Five Sevilla players scored in double figures. La ICL Manresa maintains seventeenth position with 3-14 record. Sevilla at the other side keeps the tenth place with ten games lost. La ICL Manresa will play against higher ranked UCAM Murcia (#14) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sevilla will play against the league's second-placed CB Canarias (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
