Regular Season Round 20: AZS KU PO - Wisla Krakow 80-58

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked AZS KU PO (12-5) outplayed 10th ranked Wisla Krakow (5-14) in Opole 80-58 on Sunday. AZS KU PO dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Wisla Krakow's 22. They outrebounded Wisla Krakow 48-28 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. AZS KU PO looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Power forward Adam Cichon (203-90) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds. Point guard Krzysztof Chmielarz (180-88) contributed with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Forward Jakub Wojciechowski (197-93) replied with 17 points and power forward Jakub Zaczek (204-96) added 8 points and 5 assists in the effort for Wisla Krakow. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AZS KU PO have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted AZS KU PO maintains fifth position in Group C with 12-5 record. Loser Wisla Krakow keeps the tenth place with 14 games lost. AZS KU PO will face higher ranked Polonia Bytom (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Wisla Krakow will play against MKS DG 2 (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
