Regular Season Round 17: Persbraten - Asker Aliens 67-90

Very expected game when 10th ranked Persbraten (1-17) was smashed by sixth ranked Asker Aliens (10-9) in Oslo 90-67 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Asker Aliens. Persbraten managed to win second period 16-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Asker Aliens dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Persbraten's 34. They outrebounded Persbraten 47-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. DR Congolese power forward Djo Yele (203-82) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side and Latvian forward Alvis Eglitis (195-85) accounted for 12 points and 15 rebounds. Five Asker Aliens players scored in double figures. Coach Lars Gunnar Sonsteby's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players saving starting five for next games. Swedish guard Aron Furstenberg (192-88) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and guard Ole Moss (187-86) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively for Persbraten in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Asker Aliens. They moved-up to fifth place. Persbraten lost their ninth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 17 lost games. Asker Aliens will meet Nidaros Jets (#6) in the next round. Persbraten will play against Tromso (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
