Regular Season Round 15: Marghera - Pordenone 74-54

Very expected game in Venezia where 11th ranked Pordenone (3-11) was crushed by fifth ranked Marghera (10-4) 74-54 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Marghera. Pordenone was better in fourth quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for guard Federica Iannucci (175-93) who led her team to a victory scoring 27 points. Argentinian swingman Macarena Rosset (178-91, agency: Players Group) helped adding 19 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. The best for the losing side was Latvian power forward Aleksa Gulbe (184-0) with 16 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Elisa Pinzan (171-99) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Marghera have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Pordenone keeps the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Marghera will face Alpo VF (#8) in Verona in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Pordenone will play at home against Fanola SML and hope to win that game.
