The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Jiangsu Dragons' (15-15) road loss to eighth ranked Beijing Ducks (17-13) 86-108 on Sunday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Beijing Ducks made 9 blocks. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Forward Grant Jerrett (208-93, college: Arizona) had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Stephon Marbury (188-77, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 20 points and 6 assists during the contest. Five Beijing Ducks players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman MarShon Brooks (196-89, college: Providence) with 35 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and center Will McDonald (211-79, college: S.Florida) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Beijing Ducks maintains eighth position with 17-13 record. Loser Jiangsu Dragons dropped to the tenth place with 15 games lost. Beijing Ducks will face bottom-ranked Guangzhou (#20) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Jiangsu Dragons will play against North Control (#17) in Beijing and hope to win that game.
