Second Stage Round 2: Niigata R. - Toyota B SR 49-79

There was no surprise in Tokyo where Niigata R. (0-2) was crushed by Toyota B SR (2-0) 79-49. The game was mostly controlled by Toyota B SR. Niigata R. was better in third quarter 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Niigata R. to just 4 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Niigata R. 48-36 including 23 on the offensive glass. Toyota B SR players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Power forward Sari Osabe (174-87) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and swingman Tomomi Ikeda (169-88) supported her with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds by power forward Mei Chi (175-90) did not help to save the game for Niigata R.. Hatanaka Miho (177-85) added 12 points for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyota B SR's next round opponent will be Aishin Wings (#10) in Anjo.
