Regular Season Round 33: Toyama Grouses - Ryukyu GK 92-70

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Toyama Grouses (7-25) crushed at home 4th placed Ryukyu GK (14-18) 92-70 on Sunday. The game without a history. Toyama Grouses led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Toyama Grouses outrebounded Ryukyu GK 46-28 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Ryukyu GK's players. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a good game for center Dexter Pittman (208-88, college: Texas, agency: Inception Sports) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Sam Willard (205-88, college: Pacific, agency: Pensack Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Toyama Grouses players scored in double figures. Power forward Lamont Hamilton (208-84, college: St.John's) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds and forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: N.Carolina) added 17 points in the effort for Ryukyu GK. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyama Grouses maintains sixth place with 7-25 record. Loser Ryukyu GK keeps the fourth position with 18 games lost. Toyama Grouses will face higher ranked Hokkaido L. (#5) in Saporro in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ryukyu GK will play at home against Niigata Albirex and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
