No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Strasbourg IG (9-8) crushed at home 11th ranked Chalons-Reims (7-10) 106-78 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Strasbourg IG. Chalons-Reims was better in fourth quarter 26-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strasbourg IG shot 60.6 percent from the field. Strasbourg IG outrebounded Chalons-Reims 35-21 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 60.7 percentage. Strasbourg IG's coach Vincent Collet felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American swingman Alex Young (198-89, college: IUPUI, agency: Two Points) answered with 22 points and British point guard Andrew Lawrence (185-90, college: Charleston, agency: Two Points) added 13 points in the effort for Chalons-Reims. Strasbourg IG moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Paris-Levallois and Le Mans. Loser Chalons-Reims keeps the eleventh position with ten games lost. Strasbourg IG will face Le Mans (#7) at home in the next round. Chalons-Reims will play against Sluc Nancy (#18) and hope to win that game.
