There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Hapoel Afula (7-9) defeated at home higher ranked Hapoel Migd.H. (8-8) 85-79 on Tuesday. Hapoel Afula made 28-of-32 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Hapoel Afula outrebounded Hapoel Migd.H. 38-26 including 23 on the defensive glass. Hapoel Migd.H. was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Jalen Cannon (198-93, college: St.Francis, NY) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Hapoel Afula will face higher ranked Hasharon (#8) in Hod Hasharon in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
