Regular Season Round 22: Comunicaciones - Independiente BBC 71-73

A very interesting game took place in Mercedes. It ended with only two-point home defeat of much higher ranked Comunicaciones (15-5) to fifth ranked Independiente BBC (6-13) 73-71 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Comunicaciones. Independiente BBC dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Comunicaciones' 18 and made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Comunicaciones helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of center Julian Aprea (209-87) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Victor Hugo Cajal (179-80, agency: DTMones) contributed with 14 points and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Nicolas Lauria (202-88) replied with 19 points and 6 rebounds and Jose De Felippo added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Comunicaciones. Comunicaciones' coach Fernando Rivero rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Independiente BBC maintains fifth position with 6-13 record. Comunicaciones at the other side keeps the second place with five games lost. Independiente BBC's next round opponent will be Obera TC (#6) on the road. Comunicaciones will play again against Independiente BBC (#5) and hope to win that game.
